I wanna know............

How many of you think that people can truely change for the better? Maybe not great, but better then they were before?

It depends on what method they are using TO change. Pres Boyd K Packer once said,

"True doctrine, understood, changes attitudes and behavior. The study of the doctrines of the gospel will improve behavior quicker than a study of behavior will improve behavior."

I believe that.

YEAH, what Amie said!

My first response to that question was, "Are you kidding me?" If people couldn't change, there would be no purpose in living. We are ALIVE to PROGRESS and if we aren't becoming better, we are wasting our lives.

I was just thinking about how my favorite people (my best friends) are people who have made drastic changes (for example: skanky crank dealer to temple-worthy gospel scholar and mother of four) and who testify boldly of the power of the atonement in their lives.

So the answer to the question is a resounding, YES! However, if the question is how often do people truly change, the answer is, sadly not very often because we're weaklings w/o Christ.

Both Jamie and Amie said it really well. Progressing is the key. If the answer were no then why would I even try?
