On Wednesday around noon, I was at work suffering through what seemed to be a very long boring day when my cell phone starts buzzing. I look at who's calling and I see the name Mr.
Zanto, He is Gabe's Assistant Principle. Whenever he calls he always asks me how I am doing and I always say "You tell me" Ha ha. Today was no different except this time instead of telling me that Gabe was in his office, He said " I'm calling to let you know that Gabe broke his ankle at lunch, They were playing football. We called an ambulance." I yelled "WHAT", I am just down the street, I'll be there in 5 minutes. I clocked out and ran down the stairs and jumped in the car......and of course I got behind Grandma Moses going 15 miles per hour. I come to a screeching halt behind a cop car and two ambulance's. I jump out of the car and start to run down the hill at the high school to see this.........................

Gabe, trying not to cry.

There were 6 EMS and Officer
Keltner (Very good Guy).

Gabe got to ride in the ambulance.

This isn't a very good shot, My pinkie is by his foot and my pointer finger is by the bone right above his ankle.

In the E.R.

He told me that I had to go get Darrin (Dad) and Jared before they admitted him. While I was gone, They came in and set his leg and put a splint on it.

Jared was a little freaked out seeing his brother like that. Gabe was under a mild sedation. They might fight like cats and dogs, But they still love each other.

Just look at my happy little camper. After he was admitted, eating some JELL-O.

The view out his window. Kind of North- East.

Silly Jared.

Feeling a little better (Drugs are good), I let him play my
DS.

The next morning (Today). This is Gabe's Physical Therapist, Dale. He said that Gabe is a whiz at going up the stairs with crutches. I am so good that I got them both with their eyes closed...
lol

This is one of his nurses. Her name is
Faylene. There was also Deb and
Christy.

This is Dr. Hansen, The Orthopedic surgeon. Yep , You guessed it, Gabe gets to have surgery.

Dr. Hansen and Dr. Hunter ( Dr. Hunter saw him in the E.R.) Let him come home today so the swelling in the soft tissue could go down. He will have his
Pre-Op appointment on Monday and then he will have his surgery on Wednesday. He will have a metal plate screwed to his bone.
WooHoo.
So much for long boring days.
More to come later.

One of Gabe's X-ray's.
