She was only a dairyman's daughter, She was only a child of 13.
But the stars on the radio brightened her nights with a dream.
So she called up her best girlfriend Jenny, Cuz she thought they would make quite a pair.
She said lets you and me try to sing harmony at the amateur night at the fair.
But she only had the range of an alto, so the part she knew best went to her friend, and when Jenny's soprano drowned out the piano they'd have to start over again, and the dairyman's daughter would then....
Say which part is mine and Jen which part is yours? Could you tell me one more time I'm never quite sure and I wont cross the line, like I have before.....So please help me learn which part is mine and which part is yours.
She grew up and got married to Bobby, kept him working on his MBA. They had two little red-headed children and one on the way.
Everybody said she could work wonders and she wondered what everyone meant, She played so many rolls it was taking it's toll and she feared that her time was misspent.
So she opened her heart to her husband. They discussed everything on her list. From the kids to the job to her feelings for her Bob. But it really boiled down to was this.....
She said which part is mine? And Bob which part is yours? Lets review it one more time I guess I'm not sure and I wont cross the line, Like I have before.....If you'll just define which part in mine and which part is yours.
Every sleepless night knows many mothers, who are wondering if they've done alright, And the dairyman's daughter knew more then a few of the nights.
Had she given her son to much freedom? Had she smothered her two teenage girls? Did she spoil them to much or not trust them enough to prepare them for life in this world?
So she opened her heart to the heavens, And she spoke of her children by name, And the prayer that she prayed that her kids would be saved had a very familiar rephrase.......
She said lets review this again, which part is mine? And God which part is yours? Could you tell me one more time, I'm never quite sure and I wont cross the line, Like I have before, But it gets so confusing sometimes, Should I do more or trust the divine, Please just help me define which parts mine and which part is yours........
Did you hear me? I can feel you near me, It is the answer that I've been longing for. Just to know you hear me, And to feel you near me, It's all the answer that I've been longing for (x 2)
After I've done my best...I know you'll do the rest.........
If you are wondering why I posted this song......Well, It's the big question I have right now. I have prayed and prayed for some guidance with Gabe and I am still waiting.
Last night Gabe started a fire in his trash can. He thought it was out all the way and he came upstairs to play with Jared. I smelled smoke and went to look around. It was hazy down the stairs so I ran down the stairs and Gabe's room was full of smoke, There was no fire but I called the fire department anyway. Well they came out and had a look around and said just to keep an eye on things cuz there was a slight chance that there might be an ember that they didn't catch. The fact that Gabe was already on probation made things worse. They took my statement of what happened, then took Gabe aside to talk to him. When the officer showed up I knew what was gonna happen. Needless to say, they took Gabe to a group home at 10:00 pm last night. He has to stay until Monday. So that is why I posted this song.
Don't worry (Matt and Amie) there was NO damage to the house. Just a melted trash can and a slight burnt plastic smell in the basement room.

It was good to talk to you today, Laura. I'm so sorry about Gabriel. It will do him some good to learn from you how far into the future the consequences for his actions today will reach.
Thanks also for your comment on my blog. Seems like if you did agree with me more your life might settle down some! I know your prayers will be answered if you do the things that let the Spirit teach you. I freak out about my mothering all the time, and I get comfort and answers in the strangest places! :)XOXOX
I love you Lollie! I miss you too. I don't know what to tell you. Just love him.
